Moving a restaurant is part relocation, part reopening, and every hour the kitchen is cold costs you covers. FLYT Moving & Storage relocates restaurants, cafes, and bars across Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC on schedules built around service, not against it. We move dining tables and booths, bar fixtures, host stands, non-plumbed kitchen equipment, prep tables, shelving, and smallwares, and we work overnight or on your dark day so you're back to seating guests fast. You get a dedicated coordinator, background-checked crews, and clear pricing with no surprises.

Searching for restaurant moving near you? FLYT Moving & Storage provides professional restaurant moving across Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC, from Ashburn and Leesburg to Manassas, Woodbridge, and beyond.

What we move for restaurants

We handle the front and back of house. Out front that's dining tables, chairs, booths and banquettes, host stands, bar fixtures, shelving, and decor. In the kitchen we move freestanding, non-plumbed equipment: stainless prep and work tables, wire and dunnage shelving, rolling racks, reach-in units that are safe to move, smallwares, and dry storage. Point-of-sale terminals and tablets are wrapped and kept with their cables. Glassware, china, and decor are packed and padded so they arrive ready to set, not swept up.

  • Overnight and dark-day scheduling; COIs and elevator access
  • Floor and doorway protection at both locations

Scheduled around service

The plan is built to protect your covers. Most restaurant moves we run happen overnight or on your slowest day so the dining room barely goes dark. For a new-location opening we can stage deliveries to match your build-out and inspection timeline, dropping equipment and furniture as each area is ready. Your coordinator handles the landlord or center requirements, files the certificate of insurance, and books loading and elevator access so the crew keeps moving. Anything that needs a licensed trade to disconnect gas, water, or a hood system, we schedule the move around that work.

Handling kitchen equipment and fragile front-of-house

Stainless surfaces are protected so they don't arrive scratched, and heavy equipment is moved level and secured for transport. We keep hardware and small parts bagged and labeled with their unit so reassembly is quick. Out front, glassware, plates, and barware are packed in proper containers with dividers and padding. Fragile decor, mirrors, and signage get extra protection and, when needed, custom padding. Floors and doorways are covered on both ends, because a scuffed new dining room is a rough way to start.

From last service to first service

We start with a walkthrough and a labeled plan of the new space so equipment, furniture, and smallwares go straight to their stations. The crew stages by area, sets the heavy kitchen and bar pieces first, and places dining furniture and front-of-house items so your team can prep and set the room. Your coordinator stays on site, and we finish with a walkthrough of both locations so the old space is clean for turnover and the new one is ready for service.

Frequently asked questions

Can you move our restaurant overnight or on our dark day?

Yes, and that's the norm for these moves. We schedule overnight or on your slowest day so the dining room barely goes dark and you're back to seating guests fast.

Do you disconnect gas and plumbed kitchen equipment?

We move freestanding, non-plumbed equipment and protect it in transit. For anything that needs a licensed trade to disconnect gas, water, or a hood or fire-suppression system, we coordinate the timing so our move slots around that work safely.

How do you protect glassware, china, and decor?

Front-of-house breakables are packed in proper containers with dividers and padding, and fragile decor, mirrors, and signage get extra or custom protection. They arrive ready to set, not swept up.

Can you help open a second location?

Yes. We can stage deliveries to match your build-out and inspection timeline, dropping equipment and furniture as each area is ready rather than all at once. Your coordinator sequences it with your contractor.

Will our building or center require a certificate of insurance?

Usually yes. Send us the requirements and we file the COI ahead of time and reserve the loading and elevator access on both ends so the crew isn't held up.

Do you move small cafes as well as full restaurants?

Absolutely, from a coffee shop to a full-service restaurant across Northern Virginia, Maryland, and DC. The crew and plan scale to the job, and the price is clear before we start.
