Moving a business isn't the same as moving a house. Every hour the doors are closed costs you, so our commercial moving crews plan the job around your calendar, not ours. FLYT relocates offices, retail shops, medical suites, and small warehouses across Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC, from the towers in Tysons and Reston to storefronts in Old Town and offices along the K Street corridor. We'll walk the space, map the workstations, handle the freight elevator and dock reservations, and get you back up and running before the next shift clocks in.

Searching for commercial moving near you? FLYT Moving & Storage provides professional commercial moving across Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC, from Ashburn and Leesburg to Manassas, Woodbridge, and beyond.

Offices, retail, and minimal downtime

We build the move around keeping you open. For offices, that usually means a phased plan by floor or department so the whole company isn't dark at once. Retail moves get sequenced so shelving, fixtures, and inventory land in the order you'll set the floor. Our commercial movers label by destination, not just by box, so desks, chairs, and monitors end up at the right station instead of a pile in the lobby. You tell us the go-live time; we back into it.

After-hours and weekend crews

Most business moves we run in Northern Virginia and DC happen at night or over a weekend, when the elevators are free and the parking lot is empty. That way your team leaves Friday at one address and logs in Monday at the new one. We coordinate with building management on both ends for loading dock windows, after-hours HVAC, and security escorts. A dedicated move coordinator stays on the job start to finish, so there's one number to call, not a phone tree.

IT, workstations, and equipment handling

Computers and network gear are where office moves go sideways. We disconnect, bundle, and label workstations by user, wrap monitors and CPUs in padding, and keep cables with their machines so your IT team isn't untangling a mystery on Monday. Server racks, copiers, and AV equipment get moved on padded, strapped carts. If you want desks and cubicles broken down and rebuilt, our crews handle standard disassembly and reassembly as part of the job.

COIs and building requirements

Commercial buildings across the DMV almost always require a certificate of insurance before a truck touches the dock, and downtown DC and Tysons high-rises can be strict about it. FLYT is licensed and insured, and we issue COIs named exactly how your property manager needs them. Send us the building rules and freight elevator hours when you book and we'll file the paperwork ahead of time so move night doesn't stall at the security desk.

Frequently asked questions

Can you move our office after hours or over the weekend?

Yes, and most commercial jobs we do run overnight or on a weekend. It keeps your team working right up to the move and back online after, and it means the freight elevators and dock are free. We coordinate after-hours building access, HVAC, and security with management on both ends.

Do you provide a certificate of insurance for our building?

We do. FLYT is licensed and insured, and most commercial buildings in Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland require a COI before move day. Send us your property manager's requirements when you book and we'll issue it named exactly how they need it.

How do you handle computers and IT equipment?

We disconnect and label each workstation by user, wrap monitors and CPUs in padding, and keep cables bundled with their machine. Servers, copiers, and AV gear ride on padded, strapped carts. Your IT team reconnects at the new desk without hunting for parts.

Will you break down and set up our desks and cubicles?

Yes. Standard furniture, desks, and cubicle systems get disassembled at the old space and rebuilt at the new one as part of the move. Tell us the floor plan and we'll set each station where it belongs so your staff sits down and starts working.

How does pricing work for a commercial move?

Local commercial moves are billed hourly by crew size and truck count with a three-hour minimum plus a standard travel fee. Larger or long-distance business relocations are usually quoted as a flat rate after a walkthrough. Either way the estimate is free and there's no charge for stairs or long carries.

What areas do you cover for commercial relocations?

We handle office, retail, and small warehouse moves across the DMV, from Loudoun and Fairfax through Arlington and Alexandria into Washington DC and the Maryland suburbs. With bases in Ashburn and Manassas, our crews are local and know the buildings and traffic on both sides of the river.
