Pricing and Quotes


How is my move priced?

Pricing depends on whether your move is local or long distance. Local moves are billed hourly based on the total time worked. Long-distance moves are typically priced as a flat, binding rate. 

For local moves, the hourly rate is calculated based on the number of movers and moving trucks needed for the job. 

We do not charge extra for additional stops, stairs, or similar access conditions. 

Is my moving estimate free?

Yes! We provide free, no-obligation estimates based on the information you share. 

Are there any hidden fees?

No. We pride ourselves on upfront, transparent pricing. All rates and fees are clearly explained in your moving agreement. If the scope of your move changes, just reach out—our team is always happy to help! 

Do you require a deposit to reserve my move date?

For local moves, a deposit of typically $100–$200 is required to secure your move date. Deposits become non-refundable if a move is canceled and not rescheduled with fewer than 5 business days’ notice. We understand that things happen and are always willing to work with customers—please contact our office if circumstances change. 

Deposit amounts and refund policies may differ for long-distance moves.

What payment methods do you accept?

For local moves, payment is due in full at completion of the move. We accept credit/debit cards, Zelle and cash. Personal checks, American Express and Cash Apps are not accepted. A 3.5% processing fee applies to credit/debit card transactions.

For long-distance moves, accepted payment methods and terms may differ (including deposit and refund terms)—please refer to your long-distance agreement or contact our office.

Scheduling and Timing


How far in advance should I book my move?

We recommend booking as early as possible, especially during peak moving seasons, to ensure availability.

How long does a typical move take?

Move length varies depending on the size of the move, distance, access conditions, and services requested. Local moves are billed based on actual hours worked.

Is there a minimum charge for local moves?

Yes. Local moves are subject to a 3-hour minimum, plus a standard travel fee.

What if I need to change my move date?

Please notify us as soon as possible. Date changes are subject to availability and the terms of your moving agreement.

Do you offer weekend moves?

Yes. Weekend moves are available, subject to scheduling and availability.

What happens if it rains on moving day?

Moves typically proceed in most weather conditions, and our crews take every precaution to protect your belongings and property. That said, FLYT reserves the right to reschedule a move due to inclement weather. The safety of our moving crew and your family is our top priority, and if we believe weather conditions create unsafe moving conditions, our office will contact you promptly to discuss rescheduling. 

Packing and Preparation


Do you offer packing services?

Yes. We offer full and partial packing services upon request. Please call our office for more details. 

Do you provide boxes and packing supplies?

Yes. Packing materials may be provided upon request.

Will you disassemble and reassemble furniture?

Yes! Our movers will handle basic disassembly and reassembly of standard furniture to help make your move as smooth and stress-free as possible.

How should I prepare before movers arrive?

To help your move go smoothly, please have items ready for transport, clear walkways, arrange parking, elevator access, or loading docks as needed, and label any fragile boxes.

Protection and What We Move


Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. FLYT Moving & Storage is properly licensed and insured for both local and long-distance moves.

How do you protect my home and belongings?

We use professional moving equipment, protective materials such as stair runners and moving pads, and highly trained crews to help protect your home and belongings throughout the move.

What if something is damaged during my move?
